Bastian Matz

Bastian Matz is a German Air Force officer, leadership coach, and co-founder of WERK 7.62 eG, a cooperative focused on leadership, security, and innovation design in complex and high-risk environments. His work sits at the intersection of defence, public sector transformation, and design-driven innovation. Drawing on military command philosophy (Auftragstaktik), systems thinking, and contemporary design methods, he supports organizations in navigating uncertainty, decision-making under pressure, and organizational resilience. Bastian collaborates with armed forces, public administrations, and innovation networks to translate operational experience into adaptive leadership models, ethical security design, and future-oriented capability development. As a Board Member of the Archipelago of Design, he contributes a defence and security perspective to global innovation discourse.
