Karena Kyne

Karena Kyne is a researcher at Lancaster University working on her PhD, exploring interoperability and seamlessness in military logistics, framed as a security challenge. Her current project, called TIN (Thinking in Networks) is an exercise in gathering vignettes from practitioners in security and defence with an emphasis on how unmoored their daily work is from theory, and the long term aim is to use the vignettes to design a Master’s Program that is practitioner-led for Lancaster University to better understand the gap between theory and practice.

Karena is a Design Facilitator with the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) in Tampa, Florida and supports students through a process of thinking with Design methodologies in the defence and security context.
